activated sludge plant
This treatment plant is a new plant designed to treat the wastewater from a community in the Cato Ridge area in Kwa Zulu Natal. The plant is an activated sludge plant built initially to treat 2000m³/day of mainly domestic wastewater. The plant was designed such that another biological reactor and clarifier can be added at a later stage to enable the plant to handle 4000m³/day. This plant is designed as an unmanned plant with telemetry system. Total Water Solutions provided the designs for the grit trap, grit classifier, vertical spindle surface aerators, adjustable tilting overflow weir and final clarifier.
